1. When storing: the newly purchased power cable is sealed with plastic sealing sleeves at both ends, but after a section is used, the rest is wrapped in plastic paper and tied with a rope. The airtightness is not good. Water vapor will seep into the cable.
2. Cable laying: When the cable is laid, the cable head wrapped in plastic paper is sometimes immersed in water to allow water to enter the cable; when towing and threading, sometimes the outer sheath is broken.
3. After laying: The cable head is not made in time, and the unsealed cable port is exposed to the air for a long time, or even immersed in water, so that a large amount of water vapor enters the cable.
Now that I know the cause of the cable ingress, are there any rescue measures? At present, as far as I know, there is no remedial measure, only prevention. Here are a few small suggestions and methods to prevent and reduce the cable ingress.
1. The cable head should be sealed. The sawed cable end, whether it is stacked or laid, must be sealed with a special cable gland to prevent moisture infiltration.
2. The cable head should be made in time after the wire is laid. Strengthen the management of the cable head manufacturing process. Once the cable enters water, the cable head is often the first to break down. Therefore, the cable head can be made well to extend the overall life of the cable.
3. For long cables, use cable branch boxes and several long cables, each of which is about three kilometers in length. For such cables, in addition to intermediate connectors, one or two cable branch boxes are also used. Once one of the cables enters water , Will not spread to other sections of the cable.
